A day in the life of Blackie and Bob, two life long kitty friends who have found a new home with the Loftons. Occasionally they'll have a guest blogger show up...

I don't believe it for a minute. Bob is much too nice to be on the Jerry Springer show!
Blackie says, "You haven't seen him beat me up...."
But Blackie... you're much bigger than Bob. You must learn how to defend yourself!
Blackie says, "am I bigger than Bob?"
Yes Blackie... you're MUCH bigger than Bob. Have you looked in a mirror lately? (The mirror is the glass in the bathroom that your mom and dad look into when they're combing their hair and brushing their teeth.)
Blackie says, "Then how come Bob gets to eat all my food, and tells me when I'm bad?"
Well Blackie, I guess Bob is the alpha cat and you're the omega cat. In other words... you're the low cat on the totem pole. Plus Bob is older than you. You must learn to respect your elders!
Blackie says ::whimper::
Blackie... you must keep a stiff upper lip and have some dignity! No whimpering allowed!
Blackie says, "Meow... Bob beat me up last night.. he raped me!!! And then he sent glaring looks at mommy while she brushed me..."
I'm sure you're imagining things Blackie. Don't forget... Bob was your best friend and protected you while the two of you were at the animal shelter together! Remember how he used to let you snuggle up to him when you were frightened?
Blackie says, "No, even mommy was witness to bob's meanness! I was screaming so Mommy went to see what was going on, and found Bob on top of me, and he was biting my neck! Meow!! Mommy doesn't like to interfere because she is afraid Bob will be more mean to me if she sides with me.
Today Bob refuses to hang out with Mommy or me. He is sitting by himself. I don't know what is wrong with Bob. Why is he mad at us?"
It sounds like Bob is jealous of you Blackie. Does your mom brush Bob's fur too?
Blackie says, "yesh! Mommy makes sure she brushes Bob too! he is just too mean to me! But then when he does not play with me, i miss him. Waaggh! Mommy is worried that maybe there is something wrong with him. She did feel a weird thing on his belly, but Daddy says Bob is fine".
Maybe you're just too needy Blackie. Try ignoring Bob for awhile and see if that makes a difference.
Blackie says, "But i love Bob....."
::whimper::
Gee Blackie... I would invite you to come over here to play with Prow Prow kitty but she would probably beat you up too!
Blackie says, "Even mommy says my meows sometimes sound whiny... meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooow!!... that's how i meow..."
What do Bob's meows sound like?
Bob sounds very female.....Alice was a lot more butch than these two boys!
Well we always knew that Alice was butch...
Hi Blackie. Is Bob being nicer to you today?
Blackie says, "I'm scared.. there's this big black and white kitty outside and he may hurt me!!!"
Blackie... are you sure you're not seeing your own reflection in the window?
No, it's true. the cats noticed this black and white cat (a smaller version of blackie) outside the patio room, so i let them take a run in there before breakfast. usualy they go out there after breakfast. anyway, they were both very focused on this strange cat until breakfast. i had to force them to eat!
then after breakfast i told them they could go out and play in the patio room. Bob was eager as usual, but Blackie was so freaked out he wouldn't move. I left him there and closed the door, but i later was able to coax him back in the patio room. He was very suspicious and kept searching for that cat, but the cat had gone.
Wow... so you've never seen this cat in your yard before? Do you think it's a stray?
he's been around awhile! i think it's eileen's cat (next door neighbor). this one comes in side i think at night but roams the neibhorhood during the day. could be a stray that everyone's feeding (that happens a lot here! they were all feeding toto too!)... blackie is outside in the patio room, fast asleep under an ottoman.. i need to get him inside soon!
What did Bob think of the intruder? Was he frightened of it like Blackie was?
Naw, Bob couldn't care less! He just went about his own stuff. Blackie though kept looking around, thinking he may be attacked or something...
That's interesting how Bob is so nonchalant and Blackie is so paranoid. Prow Prow goes into attack mode whenever she sees a cat in our yard. She has no fear!
